The Experiment@International Conference 2017 (exp.at’17) is the 4th event of the conference series exp.at‘xx. The conference will be held at University of Algarve (Faro, Algarve, Portugal) on June 6-8, 2017, and it is a joint organization of the University of Porto and the University of Coimbra with the collaboration of the University of Algarve and with the technical support of IEEE and of the Portuguese Engineers Association.


exp.at’17 continues the biannual event series dedicated to online experimentation, contributing to extend the world capabilities in this particular area and to develop collaborative work in emerging technologies, bringing together engineers, researchers and professionals from different areas.


exp.at’17 provides a three-day (plus pre- and post-conference days) forum of discussion and collaboration between academics, researchers and industry and medicine professionals, trying to bridge the gap between academic applications and the real world needs and experiences. It offers to the participants an opportunity to present their recent work and to take part in technical sessions, workshops, exhibition sessions, discussion tables and thematic visits in the beautiful region of Algarve.


exp.at’17 will include the Special Track OER’17 “Online Experimentation in Research”, the Special Track OEEE’17 “Online Experimentation in Science and Engineering Education” and thematic workshops and technical visits to laboratories on the pre- and post-conference days.

The Demo (Exhibition) Session of the exp.at’17 aims at creating an environment where participants are encouraged to interactively demonstrate developed tools, systems and products in the field of online engineering and other supporting technologies. Academic as well as exhibitors from industrial partners are welcome.

The proposal for a demonstration activity should be submitted as a two-pages extended abstract. The abstract should clearly describe the proposed demonstration and its relevance for the audience of exp.at’17 Conference.





The official language of the Conference is English. The articles will be under double blind peer review process. Accepted papers will be published in electronic format and will be submitted for acceptance into the IEEE Xplore® paper database. IEEE Xplore® will index accepted papers meeting IEEE requirements of content and format. A number of selected, high-quality, papers will be invited for publication in international journals.
